Taking time to appreciate what we have

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

One of my favourite trends this season is corduroy, trousers, jackets, entire suits, literally anything! This cord faux shearling lined jacket from Romwe is so cosy,  I have it in a size medium which is perfect to wear over a thick knit jumper, perfect for the colder months. I am also loving the kick-flare style trousers/jeans that we are seeing all over the high-street at the minute, they are such a flattering style, this version from Missguided is linked below. Then the trusty polo neck, that no winter in the UK can be survived without, and finally the silver boots of dreams, I am pretty sure this silver pair from Zara are sold out, however I will link a similar pair below.

Sometimes in life we just need to stop what we are doing and appreciate what we have. Often we are so busy, running around, doing all of the things we need to do, like making more money or move along in life. That we don’t stop to appreciate what we have right now, in this moment. I know as a blogger with a full time job, trying to do well in my job along with trying to grow my blog that I am certainly a culprit when it comes to this.

Now when I wake up in the morning, I take the time to notice and take in the sunrise, instead of just storming downstairs knowing I have things to get ready for work that day. Also to have hugs in the morning with my fiancee and my dog, and to just let myself enjoy that for 10 minutes, without letting my mind wander to the day ahead or to my to do list. Living in the moment is very hard for me as I am such a planner, but I know hoe important it is that I try to best to do this a few times a day. To keep my mind focused, I will be writing down two things a day, just in my phone, that I am appreciative and am grateful for. Whether that is my niece and nephew and their smiles when I come to see them, or how my fiancee always puts me first. Lets take a little time to remember how lucky we are, because I honestly think that is the secret to happiness.

An Orange Suit in Paris

So this is the big engagement night suit, yes of course I was leaning toward a dress but I really wanted something completely different and this suit was that perfect thing for me. I love the a-line style of the skirt because it really is so flattering. I think that Topshop offer some of the best co-ords on the high-street at the minute (I have my eye on a white lace number), although they are more on the pricey side.

I wore this orange beaut with this sheet mesh top from ASOS, I think it may possibly be sold out now, but I will link something as similar as I can below. I think wearing the jacket covers you up quite a bit, so its ok to combine it with a bit of mesh, oh and of course a black lace bralet.

Lastly to my accessories, this little black clutch from Whistles, which honestly everyone should own, it is the most useful and gorgeous little clutch ever, and these Missguided strappy shoes, which I know I’ve worn on the blog before, but look now good they are :).

Stripped Trousers & Band Tees

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

I actually full on copied one of my best friends when it comes to this outfit, it was such a copy that I am almost ashamed of it. She wore exactly the same things, but from completely different shops (if you know what I mean) I suppose the only clever thing here is I managed to pretty much recreate the same outfit, but found different items to do this.

I bought this little cropped band tee from Missguided, and I love how it has a distressed look to it. It wasn’t quite cropped enough for me, so I tied this little knot in the front & I think it works perfectly.

And of course these stripped wide leg gems from Zara, I love these, but I have one problem, they are not quite as long as I thought they would be, and I wanted to wear them with heels for work. But alas this is not to be, flats & and a band tee it is. Also if you haven’t noticed (how could you not) I wear this Gucci belt with literally everything, definitely my best buy of the year.

Fashion’s Feminist Revolution

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

There are two major things I am in love with at the minute, slogan t-shirts and of course pro-women slogan t-shirts. As a women I think it is so important to come together to support each other, whether we have been friends for years, or have never met. I wouldn’t say I am technically I feminist, but I love what this t-shirt represents, and for me that is strong women from all around the world, helping and supporting each other.

Then we have this shirt of dreams, pencil skirts are 100% me, I am a more curvy girl and they are perfect for my body shape. Although I do advocate dressing for your shape, I think it is more important to dress in what makes you happy and makes you feel good, and this skirt really does that for me. I love the almost 80’s style of the skirt with the big white buttons down the front. Plus I am crazy into slogan tee’s and dressy skirts at the minute, this is why this look is perfect for me.

Lastly we have these studded beauts, I’m not always a fan of ankle straps on my legs, but these are actually really flattering. The heel size is not too big which makes them great to wear on an everyday basis, plus they were really affordable (link down below), the perfect shoe!

Embroidered Jacket & Double Denim

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

I am OBSESSED with this jacket, like seriously its gorgeous, it is going to be my staple denim jacket right through the spring/summer this year. This little beauty is from Missguided, it does keep selling out, but the guys at Missguided don’t miss a trick and keep re-stocking, so if you don’t see it on the link below keep checking because they will re-stock.

I wanted this jacket in a more over-sized style so opted for a size 10, and it fits exactly as I wanted it to. I am wearing it with a blue denim mini skirt from Topshop, although it is not exactly the same tone of denim as the jacket, I still love this double denim look. I am looking out for a denim skirt that is a slightly lighter blue, so they look more like a matching set.

Finally I am wearing my denim items with a very staple t-shirt from COS, a plain black leather waist belt from ASOS, my APC bag and of course my Doc Martens, which I could not live without, I love how they dress down any outfit. Really looking forward to wearing them with a little floral summer and black ankle socks, the perfect look for me.

Spring Florals & Flared Sleeves

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

Meet one of the most beautiful dresses I own, the ‘Tash’ dress from my babes at Blush Clothing Playhouse (linked down below) is seriously amazing. I love the off the shoulder details and also the floral print is so delicate, perfect for the spring season. I actually have a christening next month, and this is definitely going to be the dress that I will wear then.

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

Not only is this dress beautiful its so crazy comfortable, the neckline is elasticated and so is the waist, so you can have it as high or low as you like. I’m really excited about changing it up a little and taking off the belt it comes with and wearing it with my belt Gucci waist belt. Make sure you check out Blush Clothing Playhouse, they offer some really gorgeous pieces, and are such amazing people, plus the international shipping costs are mega low, which is always a bonus.

Lastly these Missguided strappy sandal beauts, I swear these are going to be my most worn dressed-up shoes. They are so comfy and so stylish, and go with pretty much everything, and they are £20, what a bargain.

The Most Perfect Embroidered Skirt

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

Ok so this skirt, I am crazy obsessed, the embroidery, the fit, everything. When I choose this from the Romwe site I was really excited to receive it, but its actually so much nicer in real life. I was really presently surprised to see that the embroidery is on the front and the back, so it is pretty from all angles.

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

It is important to know that the sizes on Romwe are a lot smaller than the usual small/medium/large sizes. I have this in a medium, which I would say fits like a UK 8, so it’s good to know that when buying from this site. This skirt is definitely in my list of most favourite items at the minute, and I can’t wait to buy from Romwe again.

I’m actually wearing this beaut of a skirt with my boyfriend’s white tee from Cos, it’s in a size medium, and its exactly the look I was going for. My white t-shirt would have looked too fitted, I love an oversized top half with a more fitted skirt. The sandals are from Missguided and I  flipping love them, they were a slightly risky purchase for me as I a not always a fan of ankle straps (not normally flattering on bigger legs) however these seem to have the opposite affect and are extremely flattering. Anyway back to the skirt..go buy it, you’ll love it 🙂

Wide Leg Dungarees and Crop Tops

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

Dungarees and crop tops….it sounds like I have been transported back to the days of being carefree and 14 years old! Here I am wearing them years later! I think this dungaree style from ASOS is slightly more grown up, well it feels like that to me! I absolutely love a dungaree, I think they are so flattering and I love pairing them with a crop top. It actually means you can wear a crop without flashing too much skin!

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

These dungarees are from ASOS, and were an absolute steal in the sale at £12. The fit if I am honest is not great on me, however I love them so much that I think at some point I will get them tailored, to shorten the straps and take the waist in, so they are more fitted around the waist. Wide leg trousers and jeans are so on trend for spring which I love, they are so flattering and elongate the legs.

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

The white off the shoulder Missguided top is one of my favourites at the minute, I love the off the shoulder style and the long sleeves. I will always be a Missguided girl, such affordable items, what’s not to love! Finally my white ASOS slingbacks I have worn so much, they are really flattering on the leg and especially look great what wide legged jeans.

Vintage Tommy Hilfiger and Levis Denim

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

I love vintage, in fact years ago myself and one of my best friends actually traded in vintage clothes, a lot has changed since then and I think the real money is in good vintage denim. It’s no surprise that the 90’s trend is huge at the minute and I love it! The jeans are so 90’s it hurts lol! They were a great find though, I bought them from a kilo sale in Nottingham, where you pay for the clothes by weight rather than by item. These jeans were unfortunately not part of this offer, but at £20 were crazy cheap. They are a perfect mix between boyfriend and mom jeans, and so flipping comfy.

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

I am wearing the jeans with this pink Missguided cropped tee, I have this in white too and it’s such a good staple. I have worn it with various things in pics on my Instagram and it works with pretty much everything. We also need a good pair of white trainers, these Adidas gems I have had for years, and it always surprises me how well they wash in the washing machine!!

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

Finally my over-sized vintage Levis denim jacket, it will be such a staple going into spring/summer over little summer dresses or even with vintage Levi cut-offs. I love the idea of buying vintage whenever I can, it saves money and the environment, what more is there to love!
