Embroidered sweaters and blogging with a full-time job

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

As you guys know I like to talk outfit first, then get to the deep stuff :). I love the embroidered sweater trend we saw all over the high-street last year and I’m happy to say its back, yeay! This version from Romwe is just the perfect amount of embroidered for me, and the quality is amazing, especially for the bargain price. If I can recommend one type of denim it will be a vintage pair of Levi mom jeans, you will never not love them. I’ve had these for years and I still love them as much as the first day I bought them. Of course, they are ‘do it yourself’ rips, which look better and better over time.

So blogging with a full time job, yep, its honestly so flipping hard. You have to want to blog, I mean really want to blog, and make it part of your life.  It is time consuming, from working out what outfits you want to shoot, to actually taking the pictures to editing, to posting on Instagram (and having some kind of mild strategy) to writing blog posts.

My advice for anybody who wants to blog, with a full-time job, is to block out sections of time where you know you have to do something and stick to it every day/week. For example, on Instagram I always post at 7.30am and around 8.00pm every day, this is genuinely part of my daily routine and it now feels unnatural if I don’t stick to it. I also write my blog posts for the next week on a Sunday, it sets me up for the week, then I know I only have Instagram to concentrate on. Lastly (and this one’s important) you need someone who is really going to be dedicated to helping you on pretty much a daily basis to take pictures, because unfortunately it’s pretty hard without that. My fiancé (Instagram husband) is an absolute star and is so patient with me, he takes my pictures in the rain, when we are running around and do not have time for pictures in the first place, and when I he has to take about 60 photos because I am convinced my legs look fat! Don’t let any of this but you off because I love it, and I am so happy to say that I am a blogger, yes it hard but it’s absolutely worth it, so getting blogger babes <3.

In Love with Gingham with Olivia Rose the Label

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

I have to start with this top, as it is genuinely my favourite top in my wardrobe. What you guys need to realise is this beautiful top is actually handmade by the most lovely and talented girl. I found Olivia Rose Label on Instagram, and couldn’t believe how beautiful her designs are! If there ever was a top that screamed Grace it has to be this one, gingham, bell sleeves, ruffles & cropped! What I also love about this top is it is actually reversible, I am wearing it here with the ties at the front, but it can easily be worn with other way around, which I think is an awesome little detail and it makes it so versatile.

I am wearing this beautiful little top with my fail safe light wash vintage Levi Mom style jeans. I actually did a little bit of DIY on these jeans, I cut the hems off the bottom and added a rip in the knee. Although I liked them before this, all the hacking and snipping has been the making of them for me. I was looking for a pair distressed vintage jeans for months and just couldn’t find the style and fit I wanted, so I thought why not make my own!

But back to the top, because that really is the star of the show, check out more of Olivia’s designs on Depop & Etsy (also Instagram – @oliviarosethelabel) I have my eye on the pink bell sleeve off the shoulder top, it is absolutely gorgeous. Oh the Topshop studded sandals, I will give them a very quick mention as I am sure you are bored of them now (I must invest in more shoes) but they are lovely nonetheless.

I Don’t Drive a Harley but I’m Gonna Wear the Tee

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

I’ve wanted a vintage Harley Davidson tee for agessssss, ok so you could happily class this as something that is not vintage as it’s clearly 2003, but meh I got it from a vintage seller on Depop, I’m classing it as vintage lol. This tee is in a small and is more fitted than I originally wanted, but actually it’s better this way, as it’s not too bulky when tucking it into things. Vintage band/rock style tee’s are really on trend this season, which I love, can’t wait to pair it with my new Missguided gingham ruffle pencil skirt.

So billy bargain of the century, these culottes from Boohoo were £8 (just checked and apparently they have gone up to £10 now), crazy I know! I have them in very pale pink too and they are such a good fit. The main criteria for me was belt loops…I know, I know, but I want to wear my Gucci belt with literally everything, and it’s annoying to do this without belt loops!!

Then we’ve got the Gucci, I’m not going to glaze over that one, don’t you worry! Going to let you into a little secret with this, I bought the men’s version in the smallest size (80) as it is wayyyy cheaper to do this. I have had to make extra holes (which was scary) but as long as you are careful it worked fine. This belt is one of the best investments I have ever made and I truly love it. I wear it with everything! Go buy yourself one…you deserve it 🙂

Vintage Tommy Hilfiger and Levis Denim

I love vintage, in fact years ago myself and one of my best friends actually traded in vintage clothes, a lot has changed since then and I think the real money is in good vintage denim. It’s no surprise that the 90’s trend is huge at the minute and I love it! The jeans are so 90’s it hurts lol! They were a great find though, I bought them from a kilo sale in Nottingham, where you pay for the clothes by weight rather than by item. These jeans were unfortunately not part of this offer, but at £20 were crazy cheap. They are a perfect mix between boyfriend and mom jeans, and so flipping comfy.

I am wearing the jeans with this pink Missguided cropped tee, I have this in white too and it’s such a good staple. I have worn it with various things in pics on my Instagram and it works with pretty much everything. We also need a good pair of white trainers, these Adidas gems I have had for years, and it always surprises me how well they wash in the washing machine!!

Finally my over-sized vintage Levis denim jacket, it will be such a staple going into spring/summer over little summer dresses or even with vintage Levi cut-offs. I love the idea of buying vintage whenever I can, it saves money and the environment, what more is there to love!
