How to clothes shop on a budget

Processed with VSCO with j2 preset

Today I want to talk to you guys about how to shop on a budget, and what a perfect place to start with this absolutely gorgeous long puffer coat from Shein it is s so warm, and for the sake of all things budget related is only £28! I also love that it has a hood, I know that sounds very geeky, but so many coats don’t have a hood and I don’t always carry a umbrella around with me. I have been wanting some cord trousers all season, and unfortunately I have not been quick enough to snap them up. However I found this cropped version in Zara, and I love the ring detailing at the front.

So to shopping on a budget, this I feel I am very good at! Not many people have infinite money and trends change so much, that it is often very hard to keep up, especially as buying lots of different items is often not realistic! So I want to share with you some of my tricks when it comes to shopping  on a budget. So as per the above lovely puffer coat, I want to start with online stores such as Shein and Romwe, they offer really amazing, beautifully made pieces at a fraction of the price of the high street stores, such as Zara or Topshop. The only caveat is that as these stores are based in China, which means you maybe waiting slightly longer for your delivery,  however it is worth the wait if you take into account the money you will save in the long run. The only other thing I would say to be careful with is sizing, these stores are known to have a lot smaller than average sizing (for reference I wear a medium) so always size up.

Finally another tip is online sellers such as Missguided, Missy Empire, Miss Pap, and Boohoo, which all offer really good, fast fashion and trend lead pieces at bargain prices. what I would say is always aim for the higher priced items on these sites, as you really will get some quality pieces at a smaller cost than anywhere on the high street. Another thing to be aware of is that most of these brands offer out regular discount codes, that you can find on may different voucher sites such as voucher cloud/voucher codes. These discount codes can be as much as 40% off, so its definitely worth a look via Google, before you commit to buying.

Embroidered sweaters and blogging with a full-time job

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

As you guys know I like to talk outfit first, then get to the deep stuff :). I love the embroidered sweater trend we saw all over the high-street last year and I’m happy to say its back, yeay! This version from Romwe is just the perfect amount of embroidered for me, and the quality is amazing, especially for the bargain price. If I can recommend one type of denim it will be a vintage pair of Levi mom jeans, you will never not love them. I’ve had these for years and I still love them as much as the first day I bought them. Of course, they are ‘do it yourself’ rips, which look better and better over time.

So blogging with a full time job, yep, its honestly so flipping hard. You have to want to blog, I mean really want to blog, and make it part of your life.  It is time consuming, from working out what outfits you want to shoot, to actually taking the pictures to editing, to posting on Instagram (and having some kind of mild strategy) to writing blog posts.

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

My advice for anybody who wants to blog, with a full-time job, is to block out sections of time where you know you have to do something and stick to it every day/week. For example, on Instagram I always post at 7.30am and around 8.00pm every day, this is genuinely part of my daily routine and it now feels unnatural if I don’t stick to it. I also write my blog posts for the next week on a Sunday, it sets me up for the week, then I know I only have Instagram to concentrate on. Lastly (and this one’s important) you need someone who is really going to be dedicated to helping you on pretty much a daily basis to take pictures, because unfortunately it’s pretty hard without that. My fiancé (Instagram husband) is an absolute star and is so patient with me, he takes my pictures in the rain, when we are running around and do not have time for pictures in the first place, and when I he has to take about 60 photos because I am convinced my legs look fat! Don’t let any of this but you off because I love it, and I am so happy to say that I am a blogger, yes it hard but it’s absolutely worth it, so getting blogger babes <3.

Summer’s Embroidered Denim Jacket

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

I love when you finally get into summer & you can pull out your denim jacket collection, now I am a serial seller of clothes & I still do have quite a large selection of denim jackets that I have not sold yet (still time lol). This rose embroidered version is from Shein and being the bargain hunter that I am it is only £24!!

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

The quality is amazing too, the embroidery is so well done. I have this in a size medium and I was actually a little surprised as it is way a more fitted that I expected, I expected it to be more oversized & boyfriend fitting, but actually I like it like this. The majority of the denim jackets that I already have are over-sized, so this is a little different.

I am actually wearing the jacket with one of my fiancees huge white tee’s tied at the front (nothing like realising you have a secondary wardrobe in the shape of your other half!) this beaut zip-up black denim skirt from Topshop and cream fabric mules from H&M (of with were £12.99 in the sale, madness!)

My love for gingham in the summer

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

Yeh yeh, more gingham, but come on guys this one is a good’un, this jumpsuit from ASOS is like wearing a giant gingham clown suit, and it is kind of reminiscent of one. Honestly though this stretchy lovely jumpsuit is so comfortable as there are no zips (instantly you know there is going to be stretch for days).

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

My other current obsession is shirred everything, tops, dress…everything! I think that is what drew me to this jumpsuit to start with. Also lets not forget the wide legs which is honestly a style that is flattering on every body shape (even though as you girls know, I don’t believe dressing for your body shape, I think you should wear whatever hell you want, and dress for your style).

Finally we’ve got to talk these shoes, embroidered goodness, and even ties up the legs!!! What more is needed in a shoe! I loved the contrast of the gingham against the embroidery, pretty busy, but there is nothing wrong with that in my eyes. Then this straw bag from Zara, I hopeeeee that this beaut is still available when this post goes live because its the most perfect summer bag and only £19.99 which is insane.

Summer holiday planning with Shein

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

It’s a big Shein haul for you today guys, you know I love this brand and I have been thinking about my up and coming holiday to America for the last few months, so I thought why not start planning for it now!

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

I choose to purchase this button-up tie front dress and I absolutely love it, I love the tie front section, the buttons down the front and the midi length style (because girls, I know you know its either boobs or legs, ain’t nobody got time for both). I have this in a medium and its the most perfect comfy fit. I styled this dress with these lace-up sandals from Topshop, which weirdly twist as you walk…..meh they look good, even if your bare feet are on the actual floor 90% of the time!

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

The next thing I bought in my mini Shein haul is this stripped midi skirt, a really good dupe for a version I saw in Zara a couple of months ago. I will always be drawn to a midi skirt because I think they are just so easy to wear, no riding up, no potential butt cheeks falling out of the bottom! I know I always say how affordable Shein are, but just to remind you guys, this skirt was only £18.98…..

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

For me a classic combination (since I was about 12, is there an age limit on this sort of thing?!) is a midi skirt and a cropped top. This basic top is from New Look (and £3 in the sale!) and I love the 90’s style square neckline, plus a bit of blue on blue is always a winner in my eyes.

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

Clearly I have gone for a blue theme here, and this was genuinely a subconscious thing, I obviously like blue a lot! You guys know that I also love embroidery, and this embroidered dress is me in dress form! I am a UK size 8/10 and this is a size medium, it fits perfectly. I love a smock style dress (mainly because I can eat more food than I probably should).

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

This dress is my version of effortless dressing, and I am so excited to see what else I can find on Shein, mainly lots of items to add to my ever growing collection of embroidery & blue 🙂

The Zara Playsuit That Looks Like a Dress

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

From first look you can be forgiven for thinking that this playsuit is indeed a dress, but actually it has little shorts under the top layer. This is actually completely necessary as the top layer is really very short. I love that Zara have taken this style of dress/playsuit and made it their own, I actually haven’t seen this style of playsuit in any other high street store.

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

The embroidery at the top of this playsuit is so cute, and it is actually very well made, considering that for a whole outfit it will only cost you £29.99! I also love the lace-up deal on the back, such a cute little detail, which can always be expected from a Zara piece. Really excited to wear this playsuit right into summer and also on my holiday to America later this year. To let you guys know I am a UK size 8/10, I have this in a small and it is perfect.

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

Last but not least my little silver Topshop sandals, they are such a staple item for me, and unfortunately sold out now as I bought them in the sale a while back I will link similar shoes down below). I actually love a metallic sandal for spring summer for something a little more unexpected.
