The Great British Gift With Modalu

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

So babes, I need to talk about this Modalu England bag, which I have in the Cleo style, isn’t it just lovely! But let’s get to the most important bit, this bag is 100% leather and only £59!! The guys at Modalu are running the cutest Christmas campaign (to get you in the mood for Christmas) which you can find here this campaign is specifically about the Cleo and how its is the perfect Christmas gift.

Modalu England are really repping the great British gift this year, and what better that this beaut of a affordable, real leather bag from a truly British band. For me that is a perfect combination, and I will definitely be buying one for my mum this year, as due to the simplistic design it is great for any age. What’s more, this style of bag is available in so many different colours. I chose the bright red as I have been looking for a red bag for ages, and I really wanted it to be simple and of course real leather, so the Cleo ticks all of these boxes.

What I love about Modalu is it really is a British brand, all of the pieces are designed in Britain and perfect for whatever your lifestyle may be, whether you live in the countryside or the town. The hardest choice is what colour to choose!

Girls supporting girls in the blogging world

Outfit first my loves – can we just take a moment to appreciate these side stripe corduroy trousers from Romwe I don’t think I have seen anything else like them on the high-street at the minute. There is something about corduroy that makes it so much warmer than most other materials, which is great for all of the cold days we have coming up. These boots are such staples in my wardrobe, and I think I wear then more than any of my other shoes. It also surprises me just how comfortable they are as I don’t usually do well with stilettos. I have been looking for a navy blue maxi coat for a while now, and this one from H&M is exactly what I was after, plus its really great quality. I wanted a more oversized look so I actually sized up to a 12 and it is exactly the fit I was after.

I think when I starting blogging again for the second time (the first time was quite a few years ago, before even the days of Instagram – yes I am old!) I was very fearful about putting myself out there as a blogger, who is putting their self and  their sense of style in front of the world, potentially to be criticised. I know as a blogger I am not at the level where I have exposure like some of the big players in the fashion blogging world. However there is still a level of expose, that you have putting yourself out there a brand on social media will give you.

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

All I have found during nearly a year of blogging again, is the absolute support for each other, both bloggers and girls who love fashion from all around the entire world. Who are usually all trying to do the same thing, and doing it because they love fashion so much, or girls who just want to let you know that they appreciate what you are doing on a daily basis. I haven’t had a negative comment yet, even on those days when you are really not feeling your best, your thighs or your butt look and feel too big, your hair is too frizzy and you are just not feeling your face, girls  who you have never even met will leave the nicest of comments on your posts, and give you back that little bit of confidence. I too actively do the same to other bloggers/girls who love fashion on a daily basis, letting know know amazing they look or how well I think they have put an outfit together, because there is nothing better than love and support from our fellow women. Keep supporting each other babes because as women we are strong, and lets make social media a positive place for women :).

Taking time to appreciate what we have

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

One of my favourite trends this season is corduroy, trousers, jackets, entire suits, literally anything! This cord faux shearling lined jacket from Romwe is so cosy,  I have it in a size medium which is perfect to wear over a thick knit jumper, perfect for the colder months. I am also loving the kick-flare style trousers/jeans that we are seeing all over the high-street at the minute, they are such a flattering style, this version from Missguided is linked below. Then the trusty polo neck, that no winter in the UK can be survived without, and finally the silver boots of dreams, I am pretty sure this silver pair from Zara are sold out, however I will link a similar pair below.

Sometimes in life we just need to stop what we are doing and appreciate what we have. Often we are so busy, running around, doing all of the things we need to do, like making more money or move along in life. That we don’t stop to appreciate what we have right now, in this moment. I know as a blogger with a full time job, trying to do well in my job along with trying to grow my blog that I am certainly a culprit when it comes to this.

Now when I wake up in the morning, I take the time to notice and take in the sunrise, instead of just storming downstairs knowing I have things to get ready for work that day. Also to have hugs in the morning with my fiancee and my dog, and to just let myself enjoy that for 10 minutes, without letting my mind wander to the day ahead or to my to do list. Living in the moment is very hard for me as I am such a planner, but I know hoe important it is that I try to best to do this a few times a day. To keep my mind focused, I will be writing down two things a day, just in my phone, that I am appreciative and am grateful for. Whether that is my niece and nephew and their smiles when I come to see them, or how my fiancee always puts me first. Lets take a little time to remember how lucky we are, because I honestly think that is the secret to happiness.

My 3 winter fashion essentials

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

Firstly babes lets talk about outfits, so this checked coat from Shein is honestly so perfect, I have it in a size medium, and as with all items from Shein, it is always best to size up, I usually go for a medium, or even a large depending on the item. As I have mentioned before as Shein is a Chinese online store, the sizes are a lot smaller than standard UK sizes. I think what I love the most about this coat, is the red thread running through the checked pattern, and as always the quality is lovely, and for only £25! These skinny jeans from Weekday are a revelation, I spoke about them in my last post, click here to find out more. Then to the red Zara beret and the slip on Vans, which I will speak about next.

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

So I have 3 winter essentials that I will not be going headlong within winter without this year. 1. the beret, I am so so happy that we have a new winter hat style that is really being coveted this year, and I want it in every colour! I currently have a red and a grey, but I am also looking for a navy and a nude colour. 2. The checked coat, this £25 Shein version is so perfect for the coming colder months, especially with a really thick knit jumper underneath. I also have a maxi length version from ASOS which is amazing too, a checked coat dresses up any simple outfit.

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

3. The trainer, I have so many trainer styles that I am loving at the minute, my most recent purchases are these slip-on Vans & the Comme Des Garcon Converse (which are amazing by the way!). You also can’t beat a black pair of Van’s Old Skool, I know that lots of people are wearing them at the minute and they are not really unique, however they do go with most outfits. A good pair of trainers are perfect for the colder time of the year as they are great for slipper surfaces and also so warm. I hope you have enjoyed my 3 winter essentials, lots more essentials posts coming up.

Jeans styles for all body shapes

Hi babes, so the perfect style of jeans for me, are often very hard to find if not impossible! I have always had very large calves, no matter how much weight I put on or lose. I also have thighs that are on the larger side too, but I have a small waist. So I find that a lot of jeans are way to tight on my legs and too big on my waist. I’ve been on a huge hunt recently for the most perfect jeans and I’ve found 4 types that I just have to share with you;

Topshop – Jamie Jeans – best skinny jean

TS02K02MIND_Zoom_M_1

The Topshop Jamie jean, in my eyes, are the perfect skinny jeans, they have just the right amount of stretch without being too jegging (ain’t nobody got time for that). The quality is also amazing, and at £40 I don’t think the price is bad at all. I used to be really into the Topshop Joni jeans, but actually I like belt hooks, and they don’t have them, trivial I know but where would the Gucci belt go? 🙂

Weekday – high waist skinny jeans – the best pale blue skinny

6042200-1-iblue

I have only just discovered Weekday jeans and man are they good, like the Topshop Jamie jeans they have just the right amount of stretch, and I would actually say they are comfier than the Jamie jeans. I often find it really hard to find a good pair of pale skinny jeans as sometimes they can look cheap or unflattering on. These jeans retail at £50, which again I do not think is bad at all for a pair of jeans you will probably have for years.

ASOS – Ridley Jeans – best budget jeans

7753437-4

Now the first thing I have to say about these jeans are they £25! 25 whole pounds!! Although the quality is not as good as the Weekday or the Topshop jeans, but for the price, I honestly do rate these jeans. I find that black jeans fade in the wash overtime so easily, so I’d rather buy a cheap pair, as I normally have to replace theme every 6 months or so. I’d say that the sizing for these jeans is not too generous, so if you are in-between sizes, my recommendation would be to choose the bigger size.

Levi’s 501 Jeans – Best ripped jeans

8935875-4

Like jeans in general, me and ripped jeans have a very VERY bad relationship. It is very easy to get this type of jean wrong, think cheap material and rips in weird places! However there is not much that Levi’s do wrong when it comes to jeans, I mean they are the experts!! Also I don’t think you can beat the 501, such a classic style that is somewhere in between the skinny and the mom jean, which is just perfect! At the most expensive of my choices these beauts come at £85, but again for a pair of jeans you’ll wear for years I don’t think thats bad at all (especially when you get 20% off in the black Friday sales…whoop!!).

My favourite beauty products from Quest

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

For the last couple of weeks I have been trying out products from Quest namely the Revuele Black mask, the pretty smooth snake venom gel eye patches, and the Revuele BB Beauty balm hair treatment. These products are so good and I’ve had so much fun trying them out, especially the black peel off mask.

IMG_1122

The snake venom eye patches have been so amazing at taking away any bags I have under my eyes, as they have a wonderful cooling sensation. Leave them on for 20 minutes, and the skin under your eyes honestly does feel so refreshed. The Revuele BB cream for hair, has been great for my very dry hair due to my recent colour change, I actually like to leave it on over night and wash it off in the morning as I think it has the best affect.

IMG_1121

The black peel off mask is so much fun to use and I have been wanting to try one out for ages. You literally just apply it all over the face (be careful of the eyebrows and lips) peel it off and watch all off the grime come off your face, honestly so satisfying!! You can find these products at Amazon and Pretty Little Thing have fun!!

How not to make mistakes when clothes shopping

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

I am so obsessed with anything from Shein at the minute & this checked coat is no different, its such amazing quality and only £25!! Not many high street stores offer such high quality at such a low price, so I have been mega excited to show you guys this coat. There are also lots of different versions of this coat on Shein, which is great if you want to see different options of a specific style of coat, in one place. Also I am so into this 70’s trend we are seeing everywhere at the minute, and this pussy bow blouse from H&M is honestly so perfect, I love how it is so flattering due to the nipped in waist. Then to my staple lace-up black skinny jeans from Topshop &  finished off with the cutest pink mules, also from Topshop.

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

Don’t get me wrong I still love going shopping, and not actually planning what I am going to buy, therefore coming away with something unexpected, and as a fashion blogger I think that is important. However to make sure that you do not make a shopping faux-par, and to ensure you actually wear and love every piece you buy, planning is an absolute must. If you guys read my blog regularly then you will know that I absolutely love a list, so what we are going to do is write a list! The first thing I do is go through my wardrobe and look at the pieces I love that may look shabby, maybe broken, or just really need replacing. Then I ask myself these questions, are they staple items in my closet? And will my wardrobe benefit from replenishing them? If so then they go on the list.

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

Then I look for any gaps in my wardrobe, do I have lots of bottoms but hardly any tops, or do I have no dresses and would love a few that I could just throw on when I feel I am lacking in creativity. Then I look at my lifestyle, do I need more items that work for the weekend & for my office job in the week, such as more blouses or tailored trousers, if so then they are added to the list. What I also like to do to make sure I really love the item, is find the item online, screen shot it and then add it to a folder, I then revisit these items in two weeks, if I still want them then, then I will buy them. I hope this helps when you go for your next shopping spree babes, because a bit of planning never hurt anyone.

How to clothes shop on a budget

Processed with VSCO with j2 preset

Today I want to talk to you guys about how to shop on a budget, and what a perfect place to start with this absolutely gorgeous long puffer coat from Shein it is s so warm, and for the sake of all things budget related is only £28! I also love that it has a hood, I know that sounds very geeky, but so many coats don’t have a hood and I don’t always carry a umbrella around with me. I have been wanting some cord trousers all season, and unfortunately I have not been quick enough to snap them up. However I found this cropped version in Zara, and I love the ring detailing at the front.

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

So to shopping on a budget, this I feel I am very good at! Not many people have infinite money and trends change so much, that it is often very hard to keep up, especially as buying lots of different items is often not realistic! So I want to share with you some of my tricks when it comes to shopping  on a budget. So as per the above lovely puffer coat, I want to start with online stores such as Shein and Romwe, they offer really amazing, beautifully made pieces at a fraction of the price of the high street stores, such as Zara or Topshop. The only caveat is that as these stores are based in China, which means you maybe waiting slightly longer for your delivery,  however it is worth the wait if you take into account the money you will save in the long run. The only other thing I would say to be careful with is sizing, these stores are known to have a lot smaller than average sizing (for reference I wear a medium) so always size up.

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

Finally another tip is online sellers such as Missguided, Missy Empire, Miss Pap, and Boohoo, which all offer really good, fast fashion and trend lead pieces at bargain prices. what I would say is always aim for the higher priced items on these sites, as you really will get some quality pieces at a smaller cost than anywhere on the high street. Another thing to be aware of is that most of these brands offer out regular discount codes, that you can find on may different voucher sites such as voucher cloud/voucher codes. These discount codes can be as much as 40% off, so its definitely worth a look via Google, before you commit to buying.
