Knits, silk & being hard on yourself

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

I’ve been on a mission to buy as many jumpers as I can recently, in time for the cold weather, and this grey one from Shein is one of my favourites. It is amazing quality, I can’t wait to wear it with some wide legged trousers and heels, it’s also under £16, so great value for money. I love paring a top & bottom piece of a similar colour/tone.  Along with combinations of textures, so this knit grey knit and silk silver skirt are just the perfect combination for me. The skirt gives more of a lux feel to quite an everyday outfit. I don’t need to tell you guys how much of a staple a leather jacket is. I am actually on the lookout for an oversized version as we speak.

I can be the queen of being hard on myself, its unfortunately a trait that has followed me since school. I feel I need to try as hard as I can and do the best I can, great you say? With this often comes the side effect of then beating yourself up (mentally) when you don’t achieve quite what you thought you would. Especially as you start to do well, whether that is in your job/hobby/family life, I find the better you get at something, and the more it starts to pay off, the harder you are on yourself and the more critical you become of your work.

I am actually the hardest on myself when it comes to blogging, more than any other aspect of my life. I often look at my bank of pictures, ready to put on Instagram, and I can tear them apart in a matter of minutes. I have to remind myself on a daily basis that blogging is my hobby and it’s supposed to be fun, 90% of the time it is tremendous fun, the 10% of the time it’s not is purely down to me putting pressure on myself and overanalysing everything I do. My aim over the next few weeks is to just try to enjoy it more, it’s not my full-time job, it’s my hobby and I am blessed to be in the position to be able to put so much energy into it. So, my advice to any bloggers out there who are probably being too hard on themselves, remember to enjoy it. Who cares if you get 800 likes or 100 likes on a photo, if you love it then you’ve achieved something, do this for you, nobody else, and if other people appreciate what you do then that’s just a bonus.

I know you guys have probably seen these trousers before, but ohhhhhh they have a matching top! Topshop are so good at this, they suck you in with the bottom half and then go in with the top half. I love how when you wear them together it looks like jumpsuit.

My favourite part is definitely the top I love the wrap over style and the exaggerated sleeves. Plus its all so stretchy, I think I go on about stretch way more than I should when I talk about clothes, but who doesn’t love to be able to eat the worlds biggest burger in comfort…lol.

My love for these slip on satin shoes from Ego goes on, they are so comfy and it doesn’t matter how many times you get caught in the rain with them, they don’t seem to get ruined! Lets not ignore the Gucci Marmont, its a regular, by why wouldn’t it be!

The worlds most comfy Topshop trousers

So I have these Topshop trousers in various different colours and they are 100% the most comfortable trousers that I own. They are literally so stretchy, which is perfect for the hot weather we are having here in the UK at the minute. I have them in a size 8 and they are great, I know I am going to get a crazy amount of wear out of them.

I know I’ve spoken about shirred tops before but I honestly love them so much! This one from Pull & Bear via ASOS actually has so much support in it which really means you don’t need to wear a bra, which is great because I hate strapless bras!!

Lastly to accessories, its my fav’s of the summer the Givenchy slides and the Gucci Marmont bag, both of which are going to be making me very happy for a long time to come. They are totally worth investing in, and I’m sure I love them a little more every-time I wear them.

Primary Colour Clashing & The Gucci Marmont

When you attempt to dress like a highlighter and it works!! In all seriousness I am loving all of the print and colour clashing that we are seeing this season, reds and blues, greens and blues, who cares it works! I saw one of my favourite fashion bloggers wearing a combo similar to this and just had to try it. The skirt was probably the bargain of the year, a whole £6 in the New Look sale, this make me happy as it was exactly what I was looking for. I love the wrap around detail and the fit of the skirt, it’s the perfect red skirt for me.

If you don’t own a version of this ‘mensy’ style Topshop shirt then you need one, I have it in two colours, this striped blue version and also a lighter blue. They go with everything, and when I say everything I mean everything! I love how oversized they are, they also look really great worn smart, if your job requires you to be smart of course. For reference I have this in a size 8 and it is perfect, so don’t be scared to size down.

Finally to the accessories, these are the shoes of the season for me, these studded beauts from Topshop, I know, you’ve seen them before, but I hope you love them as much as I do. Now (drum roll) I am very excited to introduce you to my little Gucci Marmont! My wonderful fiance bought me this handbag of dreams in Paris, and wow is it beautiful. My only criticism is that it’s too small for an umbrella, if you live in the UK you know what I am saying!!

Topshop Cut-Out Bodies & Lace-Up Jeans

So let me talk about this body, its possibly the coolest thing ever, when I first bought it, it wasn’t clear on the site that there was actually silver rings holding the sides together, but oh man was I happy when I saw this little detail.

I’ll forever be a Topshop girl at heart and how fab are these lace-up jamie jeans, not only are they my favourite style of Topshop jeans but this version has lace-up sides…..actually lace-up sides (calm down Grace). So you guys are aware I am wearing the body in a size 8 and the jeans in a 10, and they are perfect.

Of course accessorised with all my fav’s, my Givenchy sides, Gucci belt and Gucci bag, all of which are going to be with me until I am old and grey 🙂
