A Romantic Dress for a Romantic Place

I have been waiting for what seems like months to wear this dress in the sunshine. Going to Italy on holiday meant that I could finally do this! Granted I could wear it with tights but I think it really wouldn’t have the same look and feel if I did that, so the wait was real! Dresses with ruffles…I know you know what I mean (lol), I literally cannot get enough.

This ruffle wrap around version is from Topshop, and is perfect for layering. Italy in March is beautiful, but it can be a little chilly in the morning and evening, so a sweater is definitely needed to keep out the cold. This version is from Zara and was an absolute bargain at £12.99, it often surprises me how much I have worn this staple little piece, but I now can’t imagine not having it as a go to item.

As blogged about in my last post we have the Givenchy slides, the most perfect slides in my opinion, I am pretty much obsessed with them! Lastly this cute little Kendall & Kylie backpack, it is the perfect side to fit in all of your essentials without it being too big or cumbersome.

Coloured Denim and Gingham in Florence Italy

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

Soooooo excited to start sharing my pictures that were taken on my most recent trip to Tuscany, Italy. We stayed in a town called Lucca, which is unbelievably beautiful, and seemingly undiscovered by too many tourists. Every street is beautiful, with a restaurant or boutique on every corner. Lucca is conveniently located between the Italian cities of Pisa and Florence, these pictures are taken during a beautiful day in Florence. We walked up to the top of the Boboli gardens when the view over Florence is seriously stunning.

I wore this gingham dress from Boohoo via ASOS, and it was perfect for a warm day in Italy. The quality of the dress is not the best I have even seen, but to say it only cost me £15 I think it is a bargain nonetheless. I wore it with this yellow cropped denim jacket from Topshop, it is actually part of a co-ord, a denim skirt is also available (of course I have this too..lol). Its great to throw over an outfit when the mornings and nights are colder.

What outfit is complete without the shoes and bag? These slides are my pride and joy (sad I know). I have seen these Givenchy slides online for the last couple of years, and this year I thought it was time to take the plunge. Although they were pricey I know that I will be wearing them for years to come, plus they are crazy comfortable!

Pro-Women Slogan Tees

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

I am so happy about the pro-women slogan tee trend, that we are seeing everywhere at the minute. It’s so empowering to know that women all around the world want to celebrate and support each other, for no other reason than the fact that we are all amazing, strong women and we want to recognise that. This grey ‘Femme Forever’ t-shirt is from Topshop and was a mere £15, I bought it in a size small and its fits perfectly. This t-shirt literally goes with everything, a gingham midi skirt or denim cut-offs in the summer.

This midi skirt is another Topshop purchase, it’s a really flattering stretchy material, I love a relaxed pencil skirt with a slouchy tee and trainers. I love the idea of a contrast between something you would normally deem as smart, with more casual items such as trainers, or a sports style tee.

I have blogged about these staple Adidas trainers before, and they just go with anything. I don’t think you can beat a good pair of white trainers, to wear with dresses, midi skirts or jeans.

My Obsession with Pinafores

Processed with VSCO with j1 preset

I have THE biggest obsession with dungarees and pinafores, enough to put how much I love dungarees in my Instagram bio (@gracesurguy – for further reference)…lol. I love the preppy look of a good pinafore and this beaut from H&M is so me. I love the big ruffle over the shoulder straps and the elasticated ruffle detail around the waist. I have this in a size 8 and it fits perfectly, the waist is quite stretchy which is mega comfy.

With summer around the corner I will be wearing this pinafore a lot, but I really do think it looks best with a plain white tee. This one is from COS and it is the perfect white t-shirt. If you have never been, COS do the best wardrobe staples, and the the fit is always great.

I know I’ve blogged these giant boots before, but if you want some height adding to you, then these are the Topshop bad boys that you need in your life, they are ginormous! They honestly do make your legs look amazing, and I love wearing them.
